What You Will Gain
The BBA Human Resource Management specialization provides you with a broad overview of organizational management. This degree enables you to:
- Develop and apply HR planning, recruitment, and selection practices conforming to commonly accepted professional standards which are legally sustainable
- Develop and apply training needs analysis, instructional objectives, training program design which fully utilizes multimedia capabilities
- Training evaluation practices to ensure training has a positive return on investment (ROI) for the business
The BBA Finance specialization gives you the preparation to enter positions in corporations, financial institutions, brokerage firms, investment banks, and government. You will learn to:
- Identify the functions of financial markets and institutions and examine their impact on the level of interest rates and interest rate differentials
- Explore the international integration of financial markets and analyze implications for financial managers
- Determine and analyze the appropriate measures of risk and return for various financial instruments
The BBA International Business specialization helps you develop an understanding of these important issues along with knowledge of the strategies used by multinational corporations and how to manage in a cross-cultural environment. You will learn to:
- Analyze the political, legal, economic, and cultural environments of multinational organizations to develop competitive strategies in a global environment
- Evaluate the impact of internationalization on company strategies and on the mode of entry chosen by a multinational organization
- Design marketing strategies for international markets
The BBA Marketing specialization gives you a broad foundation in marketing concepts and practices and opportunities to pursue greater understanding and skills in selected areas, including sales, advertising, distribution and logistics, and international marketing. You will learn to:
- Understand consumer behavior
- Calculate retail pricing on both cost and profit based approaches
- Interpret the language of marketing research
- Analyze a company's marketing strategy in order to recognize appropriate and inappropriate marketing alternatives
The BBA Management specialization gives you exposure to the foundations of organizational management, with topics such as the legal environment of business, introduction to information systems, operations management, business and professional communication, strategic management, applied macroeconomics, marketing management, financial management and applications of quantitative method. This degree prepares you to:
- Demonstrate understanding of how to carry out the planning function of management
- Formulate ways to carry out the controlling function in organizations
- Link organizational social practices to the community
- Fulfill the leadership function of management
Admission Requirements
- Applicants must meet the university's requirements for admission before being eligible for admission to the College of Business.
- University requirements for admission*:
- Students with 59 credits or less:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Completion of SAT or ACT exam
- SAT minimum scores (Critical Reading— 460, Math— 460, Writing— 440)
- ACT minimum scores (English— 18, Math— 19, Reading— 19)
- 2.0 GPA (University requirement), 2.5** (College of Business requirement)
- Students with Associate degree or 60 credits or more:
- 2.0 GPA (University requirement), 2.5** (College of Business requirement)

- TOEFL score (if country of origin is not TOEFL exempt)

- In addition to the requirements above:
- Applicants who do not have an AA degree and have not completed the university's core curriculum may complete this course work at Florida International University (FIU) once they have been admitted.
- Transfer students interested in applying to the College of Business' Landon Undergraduate School of Business first must submit an application for admission to Florida International University and follow regular university admission procedures.
- In addition to meeting the university's admission requirements, acceptance into the BBA program in the Landon Undergraduate School in the college requires that you have:
- Completed all of the university's core curriculum requirements with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Upper level business courses taken are not included in this GPA computation.
- Completed the business pre-core requirements with a grade of "C" or higher in each course
